I wrote this song on guitar, on my bed, when I was overwhelmed with anxiety and didn't know how to deal with it. I was leaving my friends behind because we chose different high schools and I was still finding myself as a person and an artist. The result was a sad, dramatic and dynamic song. Essentially, The Storm that Goes On is about the constant battle of your own thoughts. It also talks about cancel culture and the fear of being yourself in front of a big audience.
